In case you missed last weeks Just the Tip, you always hear people cue push out on the belt, and it is true, we do want to push out on the belt. However, many people just push their belly out and actually force their hips into more of an anterior tilt. The cue that we prefer to use, and how we teach people to use the belt is push out on the back of the belt. If you can breath in and feel your lower back expand against the belt, then you can bet that your belly is still pushing out as well. Focusing on pushing out on the back of the belt ensures better circumferential expansion and better bracing for your squat/deadlift/press/etc...
