In college my answer to stage fright was: Re: Discussion: Musicians and Stage Fright by Isabel Lacatus - Thursday, October 24 2013, 01:59 PM EDT I just usually learn my lyrics very well and live threw my lyrics, I get into a character like an actor and even if the song isnt really ment for me I make it my own and I incorporate the feelings into the lyrics. I usually just try to be calm before a show, get my voice warmed up and get the lyrics melted into my heart, then once I get on stage I become a different person, thats when all the worries or nervelessness just goes away. I also think that to have some butterflies in your stomach before the show just means that you care if you do good or not. I believe that once I get on stage I just try to live the moment and do the very best that I can, not thinking about is my pitch okay, do the people in the audience like me. I sing the song for me and I connect with the audience by putting then in a comfortable zone not where they feel like why is she looking at me. I try to connect with the song and show the emotions threw my singing. I feel that you should just let it all go on stage, singing like its the last time you will sing. Not overdoing it but surprising your audience at some special times. I feel that if you just let the song sing itself and you just sink into the lyrics and the melody and sometimes it might be a subject that doesnt relate to you but then try thinking of something that you can relate to and that can put the same emotion maybe even more than the original.
