In democracies, in order to galvanize the public for war, you have to make the enemy bigger, uglier and more menacing. This is the same thing being deployed by those who defend the justice system in regards to Eric Garner. They say things like, To be fair, he was a gigantic man. He had at least 150 lbs on the police officer. You see? All of the scare tactics we are living in are created by those who INFLUENCE those who are elected - focus groups, think tanks and organizations that have incredible amounts of money to create research that supports their agenda. Who are these people, you may ask? Many of them are revolving between government and defense contractors with strong ties to these neo-con think tanks all in an effort to profit off fear through militarization. When they are in government, they are influencing legislation. When they are on the board of defense companies they are using their legislation based on faux national security research that then allows your tax dollars to go to bombs, guns, tanks, tear gas, etc. They are rewarded for their positions in government or defense corporations and then are sought after and used as PR by military strategists by giving off the image that this powerful entity has done all this research that shows that were so close to catastrophe. Things arent as bad as they are saying! Theyre bad because they are in power and they are saying that its bad. So it infiltrates into living rooms across the U.S. We need to peacefully organize, question, record, analyze and protest militarization. The system grows as your rights reduce. Then you start to wonder - who are the terrorists? Unarmed black men on the streets? Young brown men in airports? Or are they just trying to live like you are, but there is a major marketing campaign against the darker skins as its always been.
