Among those who took offence with Darell’s derogatory description of the Filipino illegals were Eric Paulsen and Michelle Yesudas of Lawyers for Liberty and “Sabahan independent filmmaker” Nadira Ilana. Yesudas accused the Sabah MP of being racist in his description of the Filipinos illegals in his nation. “And goodness, it’s Human Rights Day, @DarellLeiking. If you can’t stop being racist, just try and hold it in for another 8 hours. PLEASE,” said Yesudas in a tweet.
