In fact, this image must be reversed to be anywhere near truth. The Egyptian Army is far from being national but is the second recipient of US military aid -after Israel- with 1.2 billions and 20% of the national income that is the contribution of the army to this income, and with several agreements that link the army to Israelis. If we want to be anywhere near truth , it is the Muslim Brothers who - during the last decades- were promoting the Palestinian Cause and standing and rallying for Palestine and closely coordinating with HAMAS before they were set up to take after Mubarak, and jeopardize their future as a major movement on the Egyptian political scene , and be subject not only to defamation but also to massacres. Does this identification between the two armies and the two rules mean that Syria is shifting from the axis of the Resistance towards the secular so called forces that have taken over Egypt and have pacified with Israel since decades ? Is this shifting part of the secret deal between US and Russia that is trying to end the war on Syria whereby Russia will be given a share in the Egyptian pie if it succeeds in favoring Syrias secular tendencies ? Is Russias intention to lead a new secular axis that is anti Muslim and National without being anti Israel ? And where do the Syrian authorities stand regarding all this ? Is there a Russian agenda that is being imposed on Syria against ending the war? Is this agenda at the detriment of the forces of the Resistance that is Islamic?
