In first grade, when I changed from church school to Franklin, I had a birthday party at 310 25th. Over the years a few people have told me they were there. Cy Bolton for example. Also, in high school, I had James Armstrong play at two parties. Mom paid the band in beer. Does anyone remember attending these? Of note is 310 25ths middle patio. Band accomidated in our back den with speakers in the patio. Ricky Henderson tried to steal a TV. And some drunk Pali kid kept hitting on my girlfriend, Dawn Benedikt. Man I loved that woman. Her dad was a physicist who escaped Europe with a letter of recommendation from Einstein. But she was an L.A. Jewish gal. In all the best ways! I think the Pali kid was one of the :Boys - a group organized in response to the SM/DT thing. Friggin Pali pussies! Once they took karate and then thru a party to show what they knew. Wayne, Bushman and a lot of us demonstrated their mistake. At the after party the Pali kid was still out front yelling. I got up to resolve it when my buds said Naw, its your party and minutes later there was no more drunken yelling. Cool. Lots of surf kids, of course. In first grade I invited my entire class. Hot dogs and such!
