In hind sight, a trend of expansion seems to be taking place, as China looks to Taiwan, post Russian expansion into Crimean. I think We, as a country,have done a little expanding Ourselves. If you hadnt notice, there hasnt been one major conflict, or death. Okay maybe one or two deaths. I think Our history of expansion was based on freedom and set forth a greater economy. The Russians and the Chineses efforts are in reverse, to gain access to the working of Democracy, and not to oppress, but to hear the very loud opposing voices. Since Putin is so obsessed with the term weak. He, I believe didnt want to look weak, and must be preparing for change. He knows the Ukraine will fight, before going back to the old Russia. Putin is aware of this, and the process has begun, as The Ukraine have passionately exerted the just, and reaction to what will not be. I think Mr Putin likes being, or would like to be like The United States Of America. The process of democracy in the Baltic States are in the thee early stages of Democracy. I find the struggle fascinating to watch. The birth of democracy thru a c section. I think thats how its spelled. Arms length Observance is Our best move. They really have no choice. Even China wasnt happy with Putins aggression. Too conclude: G7 is just fine, as in, ample enough, hopefully jeopardizes his status with Security Counsel. Where he can veto an attack, not attack Russia, while planning an attack, and arming the Syrian regime. Is just stupid. Taking away his prestige, is more hurtful, than any sanction. It is also a fatal mistake for Mr Putin to establish what is weak to his own idea of what is tough. Ever seen a kitten attack a doberman pinchers nose, not pretty?
