In his book "The secret place", Dale A. Fife wrote on how he was pastor of a local church but still experienced, months of spiritual dryness. He was so neglectful of spiritual discipline. PERSONAL PRAYER, BIBLE READING, AND WORSHIP were simply not a part of his daily routine, let alone his weekly or monthly schedule. God seemed so far away. He had become so busy wit the ministry of the Lord that he had neglected the Lord of the ministry. But one day, he shut himself in, opened his unused journal and uttered a simple plea " Lord speak to me" and the words of the Lord resounded in his ear " My son, just as cholesterol coats the arteries and restricts the flow of blood in your physical body,so neglect will harden your heart and clog ur spiritual ears, restricting the flow of my Spirit and my Word to you. The enemy comes to distract you. The world calls and beckons you. There is a multitude of things that demand your attention, but above all, your flesh draws back from me and insists on being catered to....YOU MUST DECIDE! YOU MUST ACTIVATE YOUR WILL. YOUR PROBLEM IS NOT YOUR GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION OR YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES. IT IS YOU! YOU MUST RETURN TO THE SECRET PLACE WITH ME. AS YOU DO THIS ON A CONSISTENT BASIS, I WILL RESTORE YOU, AND THE FLOW OF MY WORD AND INTIMACY WITH ME WILL RETURN...OUT OF THE SECRET PLACE SHALL BREAK FORTH NEW THINGS. I WILL BIRTH MY PURPOSE AND DESTINY IN YOU AND THROUGH YOU. COME AND BE RENEWED.I LOVE YOU, LET ME BE YOUR FATHER." Intimacy wit God would release two things-revelation knowledge and divine wisdom.
