In his prime I called Jake, Jumpin Jake the Dawg. I worked in Richmond, CA, in the harbor. I took Jake to work every day for the first year and a half of his life. He loved jumping off the dock. So, I entered him in a couple contests. His first time out he jumped 23. Got third place. 50 bucks and a 40lb. bag of dog food. He did alright a few times. But he was really high strung. Didnt like the crowds. Hed fade in the Finals. He always made it to the Finals but just too stressed out by the end of the day. Too bad. He could have been quite the pro.
