In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a parents perspective: “As I sit here writing this letter I am actually hesitant to do so. By writing this ‘thank you’ I must acknowledge the beautiful candles you sent and the fact that you sent them because Jared is dead…really dead…15 years ago. But, if I don’t recognize you and the candles and Jared, then I minimize everything and everyone and that would be even more ridiculous…How comforting to know that you are always with us regardless of the distance and years.
