In honor of June 6th, the World War 2 D-Day invasion of Normandy, which took place 69 years ago today, I have changed my cover photo. Here, Mark and I are at the American Cemetery in Normandy, France last year, just a few days before D-Day. I am on Omaha Beach in my profile pic, one of several beaches where the Normandy Landings took place. There are no real words to describe the emotion and feelings on our visit to Normandy last year. 160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50 mile stretch of heavily fortified French coastline to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy..Remembering those who served, those who gave their lives, the survivors and the few that remain today.
