In just a little over two months our annual gathering for culture days, Pow-Wow, and the annual meeting will be here. This is a time when we all gather to learn about our past, present and future. A time to gather and visit with old friends, and meet new friends. It has become a time many families gather for reunions. For this reason we are changing the name of Culture Days to THE GATHERING. It is truly a gathering of our people and a more fitting name as we do more than study our culture - we live our culture. This year THE GATHERING will start Thursday, September 11th and continue through the weekend with our annual meeting and Pow-Wow. Being our 25th anniversary of Pow-Wow, this year the Thursday and Friday activities will focus on our Pow-Wow. We will learn about the dances and how to dance at the social/inter-tribal dances. Women will make shawls and men bandoliers. We have not forgotten our language. This year we are going back to the basics - language 101 with a twist. Watch for additional details, schedule, and registration in the coming days.
