The fire in Cresskill that Dumont responded to mutual aid on Monday was called in by a resident who heard the smoke detector going off, and upon stepping outside to investigate, saw smoke coming from the chimney and roof. This is proof how important these fire detection systems are, whether you live in a house, apartment building, or businesses. It is important to make sure that these systems are working properly, and if you hear or see something, do not hesitate to call for the fire department to come and investigate.
