In lieu of this day as I get another year older I feel its an appropriate time to share my new goal with yall! Over the last couple months Ive been having, in my opinion, a huge debate going on in my head about my competition future. After narrowing down my ideas I decided to get the opinions of a few people I value and trust to be honest with me, no sugar coating no fluff. Each and everyone of these individuals agreed on the same idea. Their feedback was almost identical yet none had spoken to each other. So for the last 2 weeks Ive been trying to analyze from all angles if this would be the right decision for me. The one thought that kept going through my mind was: Challenges reveal our true character, without them we will never grow, we will never learn, and we would never be shaped into the people we are today! With this in mind and a lot of mental debate Ive decided to accept the biggest challenge in my fitness career! Through numerous emails between Allen Cress and I a game plan has been drawn up. Ive taken the necessary steps and have the permission of the IFBB. Plus, my sponsors, Anytime Fitness SLC and Complete Nutrition Utah, have given the the thumbs up in support as I try to become the first (as far as I know) IFBB Pro Mens Physique competitor to successfully switch to an IFBB Pro 212 Bodybuilder!!! I already know this will bring out tons of criticism, skeptics, and haters but those will only fuel the fire within! The lack of vision and conforming to the norm will prevent them from progressing in life. Im not trying to show any disrespect or downplay how extremely difficult it is to become an IFBB Pro Bodybuilder let alone the years of work one needs to put in. I fully understand this and I have total respect for those who have already taken the time and put in the work to create their best physique. As Allen stated in one of his emails, Competition is only one aspect of your life. Life is short and taking risks can be very rewarding and I dont mean a trophy, new challenges, etc... This switch isnt just about the competition but a way to create my own path, a way to see what Im really made of, and a way to prove to myself that dreams can become reality. For those who can see the big picture and are willing to set aside fears of failure to accomplish that which you desire climb with me up the biggest mountain I have ever faced! I already made history by being the first IFBB Pro Mens Physique Masters (35+) Champion when I won my Pro debut in Sacramento in 2013 so Im ready to try to do it again with the bar raised even higher!!! I have a lot of work ahead of me so the word Bulking and term Improvement Season just got a whole new meaning. Im keeping my fingers crossed that hopefully my body (joints, muscle, tendons) will allow me to follow through with this lofty feat. Nervous, scared, and excited! Time to get BIG!!!!
