In light of the NAACP press conference this morning, I am reminded of an earlier comment from Rachel Bishop that speaks to the heart of the issue: Remember that rezoning has to happen for the new school, Crestview, and future schools to come. But this time we have a chance to do it based on equality and logical reasoning for all students in Robertson County instead of a map created by strangers that brought forth the politics of racial hostility. The good side, the Community has awaken to their voice that has laid silent in ignorance. The bad side, some will continue to see this as a racial imbalance. I implore that we see each other as Robertson County citizens. Not skin, not money, not some dot on the map, but people who will rise united to help the Board come up with a better plan that will not cause any harm to our children and their advancement in education, sports, and community bonds. Let our community work together, without unnecessary federal government interference, to help Robertson County become the BEST school district possible!
