In light of the recent comments and discussions that have taken place regarding the content on the ‘Humans Of Brisbane’ page. Thank you to every person that has taken the time out of their Monday to voice their concerns and opinions on what we do. I would like you all to know that we take all feedback seriously and hope to meet the same standards and aspirations of the other ‘Humans Of’ pages. In case you are wondering, some of the HOB people do include people that we know/who are our friends among the other strangers and Brisbane folk that we have never met. The whole purpose behind the ‘Humans Of’ movement is to create a sense of community and to bring people together because each individual soul has a story to tell and it deserves to be shared with the world. So Emily and I decided to not attach any rules/boundaries or judgement based around the fact of whether a person was someone who we knew or not. After all, these people who we know are still ‘Humans Of Brisbane’ so why should we not give them the opportunity to have their story shared? The rest of the world doesn’t know their story. This is not a vanity project for us or a shameless vehicle to promote our ‘mates’. It is a part time project to share our passion, to share our city and the stories of all the lovely people who live in it. It is not a job, a career or anything like that. It is simply something that we love doing in our spare time free from money or material gain. We never had any intentions to copy or make it the same as ‘Humans Of New York. Once again, sorry for not meeting your expectations. If you feel like you would like to lend a helping hand and help to further improve and grow Humans Of Brisbane then please let us know because we would love to have you onboard :-) Peace.
