In memory of Andraé Crouch (1942-2015), the Father of Modern Gospel. Andraé was a Grammy Award-winning musician who wrote contemporary standards bridging the black and white Christian communities. Songs like Jesus Is the Answer, Soon and Very Soon, and The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power. In 1987, the Andraé Crouch Choir sang background vocals along with Siedah Garrett, Glen Ballard, and The Winans on Michael Jacksons hit single Man in the Mirror. Thats also the choir on Madonnas Like a Prayer. He even arranged and conducted for the Lion King soundtrack. Crouch died this past Thursday in Los Angeles after suffering a heart attack last weekend. He was 72.
