In mid January this year I left home and flew to Brisbane to get more experience with deep sea, blue water sailing. For 3 months we fixed sails and rigging, chipped tons of rust by hand and gave the Alvei all the love she could handle. Then, with a crew of 12 others, I helped sail the 100 year old, 75foot iron hulk across the Tasman Sea... to Fiji. It was like trying to sail a giant, disproportionate bathtub 3000 nautical miles. After 6 weeks of seasickness, scurvy, hunger, gales, 9m waves and nothing but open water we made it to Fiji. It was truly a life changing adventure and experience - one I will never forget! From Fiji the most logical next move was a one way flight to Kauai, Hawaii. Now, After another 7 months of camping and exploring the magnificent NaPali coastline, hiking through the deep valleys, scoring perfect surf and finding secret beaches, fasting, basking in the sun, eating nothing but wild tropical fruit and veggies, connecting with god on a whole new level, meeting some of the wildest, friendliest hippies/enlightened souls you can imagine; I am ready to come home. Endless gratitude and blessings to everyone who has been a part of this blessed year. Augusta/Margaret River shire.... I shall be seeing you on the 27th! Peace and love till then...... my beautiful friends/family! Aloha from Oahu!
