In mid-October, Ben Jones, Jon Mancuso and I met to begin a five-week journey of exploration in the Mustang region of Nepal. The mission was to attempt to find and climb a set of newly opened peaks, which, if achieved, would mean a first ascent. The expedition started with typical delays of lost baggage and broken-down jeeps, but it started nonetheless. We packed rock, ice and alpine gear, along with an attitude for the unknown. Spending the first two days crammed into the jeeps with all our gear, we were anxious about what we were going to find in an area none of us had ever been. We joked about jumping out the window of the jeep on the steep and unstable road should the drive get even more treacherous. But before too long, we found ourselves at end of the road and jumping out wasnt an option anymore. It was time to pull out the maps, put on our boots and start climbing. #mustangmystery #liveyouradventure
