In most TV shows the writers vision for the characters changes - TopicsExpress

In most TV shows the writers vision for the characters changes slowly over the seasons. The Office is the only show I know there the characters are the exact same characters we love from season #1 to season #9! In The Big Bang Theory, episode #1 opens with Sheldon Cooper and Leonard Hofstadter going to a sperm bank to make some money, in the scene Leonard calls Sheldon a semi-pro (at masturbating). Albeit later on in season #5, Leonard tells Penny, hes not sure Sheldon has genitals, might be a Ken doll. In F.R.I.E.N.D.S, the show progressively made Chandler Bing more and more gay until a quirky character became a bland caricature. How I Met Your Mother has, of course, castrated the star of the show: Barney Stinson! And That 70s Show made such a mockery of their star: Eric Forman that he went from episode #1s beer steeling adolescent to a lousy character who wouldnt get out of bed for boobs, so bad, in fact, they couldnt keep the character on for season #8! Married with Children was the closest runner up in successfully maintaining their characters, they did preserve all the leads, but they lost the quirky neighbors: Jefferson Darcy and Marcy Darcy entirely! Absolutely all these shows are still great! But they did lose something.
