In my eyes I see the Bahamas as a 41 year old house having been - TopicsExpress

In my eyes I see the Bahamas as a 41 year old house having been occupied by “two occupants”. The first occupant in 1967 being young and vibrant moved in the house and while there, he ensured that it was kept in a fairly immaculate condition due to care and maintenance of the home. Unfortunately the last ten (10) years of his tenure, the occupant began to neglect the house and its contents by patching here and there and so after spending 25 years he was asked to vacate the premises promptly as a new occupant was to move in. Now enters the “2nd occupant” in 1992, with a promise to bring about transparency and accountability in fact total restoration of the home to its original state due to the years of neglect by the previous occupant. While there the “second occupant” began installing, upgrading and restoring the home, but just like the first occupant in its latter years in the house he forget about its original mandated to preserve its integrity, longevity and promises, so as the first occupant did in his last years, so did he, he patched here and patched where ever was necessary and after 10 years of occupancy, he was also ask to vacate due to defaulting on the contractual agreement entered into. Yet again in 2002 the first occupant made successful application with the landlord to reoccupy the house with the promise that all necessary repairs will be carried out swiftly and professionally. While there he noted all the vital maintenance programs that needed to be adopted and carried out but again instead of repairing the pertinent problems, he patch, here and there so he was then ask leave. Once again the second occupant became successful in regaining the house in 2007; instead of caring out the original mandate he did the identical thing as the first patching here and patching there and he was then ask to leave once again. From 2012 to present date, the first occupant yet again became successful in convincing the landlord to allow him to regain access into the house however this time instead of the normal patching and repairs, he just yelled “The Hell with it” and proceeded to use buckets, hoses, crates, rocks and canvas… whatever was needed to patched the home. Now the house call the Bahamas is deteriorated and somewhat dilapidated not solely from the inside but more so from the outside. I say “Bahamas”…we must choose wisely in 2017 our home is old, broken, in need of total restoration. We must require either a NEW house to be constructed or a NEW Occupant to restore the house to its original state. We SHOULD NOT allow it to be “business as usual” otherwise this home call the Bahamas will fall down on us when we least expected it too.
