In my opinion, its irresponsible to tell someone on a strict, ketogenic diet to avoid salt intake, because its hedonistic. When insulin levels are at their floor, the kidneys stop sequestering sodium-chloride (NaCl) and we excrete more. This means, contrasted with a typical, USDA-guided diet, the keto-dieter should probably be consuming more salt, to even out extracellular fluid NaCl concentrations. (Sidebar: how exactly does one quantify food reward and hyper-palatablity, anyway?)
