In my quest to find #glutenfree friendly restaurants I tried the Indian restaurant Arka in Sunnyvale and despite ropey reviews I was pleasantly surprised. We had an excellent rogan josh, a very good saag and even the gluab jamen were gluten-free (the menu has a gluten-free logo next to the appropriate items). I had to forgo all the starters I wanted because they were friend in the same oil as ingredients containing gluten. None of the breads were gluten-free which is a shame for a restaurant that makes a point of serving gluten-free food. A cornflower chapati (maki-di-roti) would be a tasty addition that would nicely complement saag. Service was variable. They also had gluten-free dosas (which by default are not gluten-free since wheat flour is typically mixed in with the rice flour). We will return.
