In number theory prime numbers are very special for various reasons. That too, some primes prefer to be isolated and not be part of any other prime close enough to it. Such primes are called as Isolated Primes. Here is the proper definition for a isolated prime. If p is a prime such that neither p-2 nor p+2 are primes then p is called a Isolated prime. First few isolated primes are 2, 23, 37, 47, 53, 67, 79, 83, 89, 97, … This list shows that isolated primes are most rarest among even prime numbers, since among first hundred natural numbers there are 25 primes where as there are only 10 isolated primes.
