In old Turkey lived this king called Croesus...very sure of himself...bcos his land had natural gold mineral deposits...his treasuries were boosted by de tribute frm de Greek cities of de west...so Croesus became famous in terms of wealth n power...one day he met an Athenian legislator called Solon...who engaged in a discourse abt life...Croesus said he was de happiest man alive cos there was nothing he cld not buy in life...cutting deeper in2 de story...Solon punctured Croesus glow of wealth n power...by alerting him on de Greek adage...pride comes b4 a fall...then he went on 2 say...call no man happy unless he is dead...life is full of surprises...there is nothing de gods likes better than 2 give a man a glimpse of happiness n then plunge him in2 ruin...so it is foolish 2 count anyone lucky...until u see that their good fortune was not a flash in de pan...2moro might be another person with a different character...but Croesus secured in his fortunes in life laughed off Solons philosophical warning...however, many years later...king Croesus was defeated in battle n captured...he is said 2 have alarmed onlookers by crying...Oh Solon...Solon...as he was ceremonially burned alive amid de devastating ruins of his own capital...lol
