In only the 2nd start in his life, 2 year old THE MAUI CORONA ran a 90 speed index at Ruidoso. He lead in the stretch but got inched away from his 1st victory. THE MAUI CORONA is obviously a complete Maui Farms homebred, out of Drifting Illusion (those TBs and 1/2 TB bred mares really click on Coronas Prospect!). He is proudly owned by Larry Newsom who recognized his potential early on. Larry was here at Maui Farms breeding one of his very nice mares to CORONAS PROSPECT when he saw the Maui Corona as a weanling and started to negotiate a purchase price & left with him a year later.
