In our next project, which is aimed at the upliftment of women and children in our community, our team members: Chairman Mrs. Sonam Lama General Secretary Dr. Tsering Choden Gurung Executive Member Ms. Lenzing Gurung Executive Member Mrs. Geeta Gurung along with Dr. Marie Nordstrom from Sweden will be leaving for Manang on 10th November, 2014. We will be holding a program at the schools there to distribute stationary supplies to all the school children along with some sports goods. As per the need of the high school in Manang, our group will also be donating a photocopy/printer/fax machine to Annapurna Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Manang. We will also be holding a free dental camp on the 12th and 13th of November in Manang Village and the 14th of November in Humde, Manang for all the villages in upper Manang combined in these two locations. One of our goals there is also to help support the one and only day care center in Manang which is in operation but under poor circumstances with bare minimum supplies. Our team will be providing the center with books, toys and games along with blankets and pillows for their afternoon naps ☺ This project is aimed to benefit all the mothers with young children and encourage them to send their children there so that it can benefit both mother and child. We would like to thank Ms. Kunju Ghale for her generous donation of 9 footballs, 7 air pumps and 8 skipping ropes for our sports goods distribution and Ms. Sonam Wangma for the crayons supplies for our stationary distribution. Special thanks to Dr.Tsering Choden Gurung and Dr.Marie Nordstrom for volunteering for the dental camp and Mr.Binod Gurung from Manang for co-ordinating our event in Manang. We wish our team all the best for their journey and hope to be able to continue to serve our community in more ways in the future.
