In our success-driven world, fun is an often overlooked commodity. Theres a corporate ladder e climb, a glass ceiling to break through, another committee meeting to attend. Serious staid, and structured, our lives lack joy. We race a ticking clock with a sweep hand. Paul exhorted the Christian community to be full of joy now. The Psalms encourage us to sing and dance and praise His name. How is that possible with a solemn face? A little lighthearted fun releases pent-up tension and balances lifes scales. Laughter will lower our blood pressure. That cheerful heart is good medicine. Surely its time for a bit of spontaneity. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 (NIV) says to be joyfully always. In our cyberspace world, we can share jokes and hilarious videos. Pull one upon the screen, throw back your head, and laugh. Realize God intended for us to have joy in our lives. Say, Yes Lord, and chuckle.
