In recognition of the increasing global burden of suicide, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has released it’s first ever report on suicide and provides recommendations for suicide prevention. Suicide is a global phenomenon. Internationally, more than 800,000 people die by suicide every year. It is now the second most common cause of death in 15-29yr olds. Despite being a so-called lucky country, we are not immune to suicide in Australia.
