In regard to a slight incident pertaining an allege complaint by the Pioneer Square Macys store manager, I just want to throw this out there for future reference. We are a collective of independent individuals working for the people. We are autonomous providers to the people and there is no micromanagement of anyone within this Facebook group. We all act on our own will to help our community, thus each of our own actions are independent -- each and every time. If anyone approach you referencing to this incident, kindly explain that we are not a registered organization or anything (in order to avoid scenario like this) and so no one person report to any other person. So you were unaware. Move if you are forced to. Not everyone in the group is on the same page and there is no true centralization. We merely lend support and advice to those who want to help serve, but we are ultimately just people giving out free stuff -- and there is no law on giving free goods. Whether people choose to accept it, it is up to them. There is no ordinance around this. A table, however, under Multnomah City code is a structure and does require a permit, but if asked to take those down, then kindly do so. You can still serve from the ground as we did/do normally. If we need to figure out a new location for serving, we will and I have a few locations in mind for suggestions, but lets see if we can keep serving from this corner since it is best to reach out to people and most people who seek our aid knows who we are and come to this area. If I can lend any support or advice, feel free to let me know, or ask the expert Jessie Sponberg. Well try to help as best as possible. -B
