In regards to the handout everyone is talking about, I have no involvement with that document. 3rd Party advertisers can say and do what they want independent of candidates, I have no say in that at all. In fact there is a lot of legislation around what 3rd party advertisers can and cannot do. (goo.gl/wkZv0G) You as voters are empowered to make choices and select candidates that reflect your own values and beliefs, that is what is great about this system of government we subscribe to. With the incredible wealth of information available (Newspaper, Chamber Blog, All-candidates forums, candidate websites) never before have you had the opportunity to inform yourself with the information you need to make a choice that reflects you. What I think is of the greatest value is to listen to what each candidates actually has to say. Advertising and marketing are there to get your attention, but when you dig into the content and ideas of each candidate, you will get to the heart of the platform and vision from their own mouth. Being an informed voter is not just absorbing the advertising and going with your gut. Its about endeavoring to understand who is going to be making decisions on your behalf for the next four years. It deserves as much attention as you would spend in choosing a college or house insurance policy. There has been a lot of money collectively spent in this election, and some of you might be curious where that funding comes from. To this day, I have not accepted any donations (anonymous or otherwise) to pay for my expenses. Running in a election is not cheap, but I have done it on my own dime and my own modest means. If helping you find out about my vision and values means my grocery list has to be a bit smaller, that is money well spent in my opinion. So thank you all for your support and especially for voting. Best wishes also to all the candidates as we hit the last day of this effort! I truly believe everyone should have a opportunity to serve in this community as an elected representative. It is not easy or pleasant often times, but it is fulfilling, inspiring work that I love immensely! Robert Hacking
