In response to our opponents tasteless mailer... You have heard the lies, now lets hear the truth, what is truly important! POLICE THE FACTS! Last year January, the current administration laid off the Camden City police force, while discarding pensioneers as a cost saving measure, and completley shirking her responsibility as a leader and administrator by passing the buck to Camden County to police our community. What we received in return was a force lacking in diversity, lacking in Camden representation, and not equally serving all the people in all areas! During the layoff, the City of Camden forfeited $6.1M due to unquestionably poor management of federal grant monies specifically provided for the re-hiring of police officers in urban districts. This money was available in an account totally accessible to the City while perfectly eligible officers were on lay-off. After the shifting of responsibility from the City to the County, for which there was no reasonable logic other than the administrations own lack of management skill and willingness to work smarter and harder. We the citizens lost not only our own representative police protection, our police vehicles and other assets, which are being leased to the County for a grand total of $1, and the $6.1M as well. Over 9500 Camden residents signed a petition to prevent the proposed transfer of the policing of our city. In response, the current administration and city council sued the residents of Camden to prevent them from exercising their rights as U.S. citizens to vote on the measure. The Citizens then appealled the lower court ruling. Recently, the Appellate court overturned the lower court, and vindicated the rights of the residents to oppose this corrupt decision of City Hall. Who ever heard of a City government suing its residents for attempting to exercise their rights! During the first term of this administration murders in the City of Camden have increased 100%, in effect since this administration took office there have been approxiamately 200 murders in our city! In fact and horribly true, the next day after the layoff of half the police force, a corner which had been previously manned continuously by the Camden City police force bore witness to a young womans death. Her mother has grieved until this day and certainly did not see her daughters life as being expendable when there was a better solution the current administration ignored! EDUCATION While working with the RAC organization and having tremendous community involvment in order to find solutions for Camden City schools, the current administration betrayed the efforts of the community and invited Gov. Chris Christie to take over our school system, once again shirking her responsibility as a leader and administrator. With the already low spirit of the Camden City school system teachers and other general staff, rather than bolster our most valued public servants, who feel insulted as they were passed over for a sorely underqualified superintendent, that once again, smacks the citizens of Camden in the face, as though not only cant we police ourselves, we also cant educate our own children either! This is the proven opinion of the current administration evidenced by their actions! Its not what they say, its what they have done! We think you agree with us, this administration has done enough damage to our city! We need leaders that will improve matters, not poor managers that will make our city worse than how they found it! JOBS While double digit unemployment exists here in Camden, the current administration places a strong emphasis on skilled white collar labor, with zero attention to the skills and employment needs of the current residents of Camden. PERSONAL ATTACKS! The current administration focuses on smear and political spin to desparately hold on to power with lies and fear, babies are dying, children are dropping out of school, workers are being laid off and we are hurting as a community. In reference to our opponents claims, firstly and with all due respect, Solid Rock Worship Center a 501c3 non-profit house of God does not owe any money to the federal government, and the so-called mansion is owned by the church. And when last we checked, churches are non-profit and dont pay taxes. Regarding our opponents claims of a $50,000 debt, as quoted in the Courier Post by Jim Walsh on Sept 4, 2013 “The suit with Amir Khan was settled a while back, Sorry there is no story anymore. Best regards. Mr. Irv Richter; the businessman that loaned money to Solid Rock Worship Center. If our opponent wants to stoop so very low as to attack a Church of the Kingdom of God and of predominantly middle and working class African Americans and Hispanics, we welcome such an attack, as we therefore know we are in the great and humble tradition of our lord and savior, who was also wrongfully attacked as well. Our church has committed no wrongdoing and we submit ourselves to God as judge. Unlike the current administration, we sincerely and diligently help the poor, the imprisoned, the hungry, the children, and all who are in need.
