In response to popular demand (ok, it was only 2 people), Im sharing my latest poem, my first ever sonnet: Promises When down the aisle I walked so long ago with every unsaid promise in my heart I thought the photo book would always show the happily ever after of the start. We said the words that all the world has heard. We stood up front in rented suits and lace. Our parents cried and smiled to hear the words. Lives linked together in a sacred space. Assumed but never spoken in the air. The way I am today Ill always stay. I will not change well be the perfect pair. But we developed in disparate ways. And though we tried, our photos now are pale. Unspoken, broken promises prevail.
