In rock history....45 years ago today.... August 17th 1969, Bethel New York@Woodstock Music and Arts Fair. The Who.... gave probably the best performance of their lives and arguably of the entire festival. Starting at 5am and playing for more than an hour, if any concert goers in ear shot were trying to catch a few Zzzz, it would just have to wait because you can sleep when your dead. From Roger Daltreys (CBE) magnificence, as if performing a rock ballet, man on a high wire, to Townshends attack with his Gibson AG axe, Keith Moon, No.2 on the roster of greatest drummers of all time and John Entwistle, AKA Thunderfingers because his digits became a blur across the four string fret board. And then the craziness when Abbie Hoffman, political and social activist interrupted the performance in attempt to speak in protest against the jailing of John Sinclair of the White Panther Party. If there is a top 10 of live performances, this no doubt is in the top 5, thats my opinion, whats yours? Grab your favorite breakfast beverage and crank it up....it dont get better! https://youtube/watch?v=m7AHblQ3_oM&feature=player_detailpage
