In studying for my class in Revelation about the church of Laodicea it talks about the attitude of the church. Many believe the Laodicean church represents the end time church. This church was lukewarm. They were neither cold nor hot therefore God said He would spit them out of His mouth. Spew might be a good word here. It would be like vomiting with great force. This church was detestable to God. The attitude of this church can be seen in todays church. Fortunately in all churches whether hot or cold there are those who love the Lord and are faithful to Him. There has always been a remnant faithful to the love and direction of God in their lives. What are some of the attitudes we seen in the church today that reveal our lukewarmness? 1. Not willing to witness for Christ. 2. Seeing those will to work for Christ as Zealots and speaking of them in derogatory ways. 3. Only being involved in church when there is nothing else to do. 4. Not willing to share Christ with others because it may offend someone else. 5. Being willing to agree that it does not matter what one believes as long as he/she believes something. 6. Caring more about feeling good instead of listening to the truth of God. 7. Accepting relativism of the Gospel instead of the absolute truth of the Gospel. 8. Seeking peace instead of truth. There are more which could be added but you get the idea. Let me ask you an important question. Are you a lukewarm Christian? Are you on fire for Christ in your church? Christ needs people committed to Him; the world needs people committed to Christ. People need the Lord and todays world it seems is more lost than ever. Lukewarm or on fire for Christ...it is your choice. I do not want to be spewed out of the mouth of Christ.
