In the Fall of 2012, MindFreedom held an electroshock protest, across the street from 2012 Alternatives Conference in Portland, Oregon, with the leadership of Debra Schwartzkopff electroshock survivor. A couple of videographers were there that day. This was my last protest before my fall when I broke my neck, though of course I have done protests since then! One of the videos just got edited and put up on the web for free public viewing. Please get the word out about it, electroshock is growing all over the world. I am so proud of the national group that formed during this protest! I am more proud than ever when I think about the fact that many of my friends stayed across the street at the conference funded by the mental health system. They might do some great work, but once in a while one needs to cross the street and speak out!
