In the Garden if Eden, God told Adam and Eve to not eat of the tree of knowledge of Good and evil. At that time they were the most obedient beings God had created. By God making us in HIS image, we gained a free will. Adam and Eve both had these traits. When they was tempted, their obedience was tried and by this, they proved that they could not remain obedient because the temptation was too much. By this choice God transferred control of their lives. In short, prior to this sin, God was their master. They sinned and became the very master who would ultimately decide their fate. However, God knew than man would fall short and would send the supreme sacrifice. His son Jesus to be the one who, by obedience, would restore what God had desired in the beginning
