In the Oakland Area, 7 April 1884, from the KJ. Deputy Sheriff Tibbetts of Belgrade made quite a seizure of liquors Saturday night at the railroad station at North Belgrade. The seizure comprise one two gallon jug of whiskey and a case of some 60 bottles of whiskey. In about three minutes after he seized it, a young man from Oakland arrived after the liquor, but he was too late, and we have no doubt but there is moaning and wailing in Oakland on account of the loss; but what was the loss to one was a gain to many. Sheriff Tibbetts is ever on the alert when any liquors are brought into town, and there is no place in Belgrade where a person can get a glass of liquor for love or money. In this respect things are different from what they were thirty years ago, or even ten years ago. In the Oakland Area, 8 April 1939, from the KJ.
