In the Torah, it would make more sense entirely if the thought was we could make up a triumphant story about escaping from egypt when in reality- they were probably THROWN out BECAUSE of the plagues it was assumed they caused. so they claimed it was divine intervention so people would accept them- they wandered for 40 years because nobody would accept them- this makes sense if you look at patterns of history. They were also basically ejected from Europe by Hitler when he used propaganda to say Jews were dirty and unclean- I believe that there was a second Exodus if this is true that the exodus was forced by egypt into israel, being expelled from Europe and the jews being told to go to israel makes sense--- but if they decided to leave because they were enslaved (in the past) and they left Eastern Europe when the nazis came by choice, it would make THAT an exodus instead--- so in reality, there are two sides to every coin- Exodus means We went so technically Europe is two sides of the same coin, But when you look at history- doesnt it make sense they were ejected for the same reason twice? (they chose to kill jews in WWII instead of forcefully send them somewhere because it was cost effective)
