In the U.S., we had an entire government shut down and threats of a catastrophic default on debt payments. In Europe, countries have teetered on the brink of financial collapse. I don’t even want to bring Syria into this discussion, such is the magnitude of its problems. And here in Canada, political drama comprises unelected politicians scrapping over expenses amounting to $90,000 or $150,000. There are important questions of governance, honesty and integrity at issue here. And those qualities are important, whether you’re talking millions or pennies. But isn’t it good to live in a country where this is the height of political scandal?
