In the aftermath of a senseless killing spree, it’s often hard - TopicsExpress

In the aftermath of a senseless killing spree, it’s often hard to feel for the parents of the perpetrator, even though they may be blameless, yet still feel crushing guilt for what their offspring did. But I can’t help feeling some sympathy for the Navy Yard shooter’s mother, Cathleen Alexis. In a statement, she told the families of the victims that she was “so, so very sorry,” and that her heart is broken for them. As for her son, who was shot to death by police after killing a dozen victims, Mrs. Alexis said she doesn’t know why he did it, and she’ll never be able to ask him. But she said he is “now in a place where he can no longer do harm to anyone, and for that, I am glad.” Those must be some of the hardest words any mother could ever say about her own child. But I respect her for having the strength of character to say it instead of trying to make excuses or blame the system. For more of the Huckabee Report visit MikeHuckabee.
