In the ancient Osirian Mystery Tradition the Djed Pillar symbolized the Backbone of Osiris. On a mundane level it symbolized strength and support. On the more esoteric level it represented the kundalini, the spiritual energy that the initiate strove to awaken and move up the spine to the top of the head, awakening all energy centers during the process and eventually achieving Enlightenment.
