In the course of conversation this weekend, a friend of mine—a longtime Clare County resident--brought up the topic of the depot. He said he’d heard that the building had been moved and wondered what was planned with it. I was at first surprised that a person living in the county didn’t know anything about the depot. After all, weve been talking, writing and posting information about it for YEARS. Then I realized that my friend might not be an exception and that a lot of people around here still might not know what is going on with the depot. While it may be frustrating for those deeply involved with events and activities, it also means there are still plenty of opportunities to get the word out to friends and family and coworkers and help raise awareness (and money). I was able to give my friend a quick update on the depot, an “elevator speech” really. (This is a brief talk meant to inform but not bore, provide a summary but not details—something one could give during a brief elevator ride.) Do you have your depot elevator speech ready?
