In the course of my career I have been at the bedside of many people who have made the journey from this life to the next. Some have been more difficult than others, but I hope that I made a difference for the familys. I like family at the bedside although not all will agree with, but I hope letting the parents of the infant that died know that everything in our power was done. The Wife of 50 yrs can tell her husband she loves him or a can parent hold their child so they arent alone. We always say hold your child closer, tell them you love them when something happens. Why wait? With all the deaths that I have been there for it wasnt until my ex husbands death that it was really brought home to me the fact that life is too short to hold grudges or get revenge on someone or pull your children into your divorce using them as pawns to get what you want. In the past month I have heard of 3 people who have lost children, of course there was Robin Williams and Lauren Bacall. Today a nurse who took great care of me and many, many,others passed away. I had friends and family pass away from age, illness, from trauma and suicide. Life, you dont know what it holds, so embrace it, live it and love it. Stop fighting rarely does it change things.
