In the eighth episode of Mahouka, Miyuki said Onii-sama (or some variation of it) 5 times. While her screentime was greatly reduced in this episode, her magical girl outfit at the end of the episode arguably made up for it. Either way, we must assume that her screentime was a quarter of the episodes length. This gives us a rate of 0.845068 onii-samas/minute, a disappointing 28.5715% reduction on last weeks rate of 1.014084 onii-samas/minute. While this is not as bad as the sharp drop witnessed during the Great Onii-sama Crash of 2014, a new faction of Onii-sama Incorporated has emerged due to this fall and threatens to overthrow the new leadership. This faction believes that the very ethos of the company is incorrect, and that Onii-sama is a term that gives far too much respect. Indeed, they are in favour of scrapping the term altogether and have taken the drastic step of proposing a new candidate to challenge Miyuki at the helm. This candidate is none other than Kousaka Kirino of the Bharatiya Imouto Party (BIP). They believe that she is the embodiment of their ideals as her behaviour towards her brother is largely cold and unforgiving, but occasionally sweet and loving. While this faction is relatively small at the moment, it has gained a considerable amount of momentum due to people who believe that onii-samas/minute is a flawed method of evaluation as it depends far too much on screentime. Instead, they use the absolute number of Onii-samas as their standard of evaluation. As this absolute number has been wildly fluctuating they have arrived at the conclusion that the Onii-sama model needs to be done away with and that the company should usher in a new era driven by what they term as the Tsundere factor Supporters of Miyuki are understandably aghast at this development, and vehemently oppose this new ideology, calling it ridiculous and against the spirit of the constitution of our organisation. While they are still comfortably in the majority, there are fears that if the absolute number of Onii-samas continues to plummet on Imouto Street there might be a seismic shift in shareholder opinion. Thus the press team here at Onii-sama Incorporated have decided conduct a small survey and ask YOU which team you are on. Will you continue to side with the traditional, established Miyuki side or would you be in favour of Onii-sama Incorporated turning over a new leaf and jumping ship to the radical Kirino team?
