In the end were all just bootmakers to Kings. My Great Grandfather,on the Degenhardt side,was a master bootmaker who emigrated from Germany,along with about 10,000 of his compatriots,in the 1860s,to escape a depression in Germany and seek a better life in Britain like so many before,since, and yet to arrive. No man(or woman) is an island,we all float in the ectoplasm of life, occasionally intersecting like molecular Venn diagrams. This vis a vis nothing in particular,other than to note that the joys and frustrations of life are more often to be found in our similarities than in our differences.
