In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years. In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abelbethmaachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria. And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah............2 Kings 15:23-30....... Lesson: Pekahiah the son Menahem reigned over Israel for two years........It was revealed to us he continued even in sins of idolatrous worship.......... As we grow in life the younger ones watch our wrong and good actions and eventually they see nothing absolutely wrong in doing bad things later in the future........ Gal 6:7………Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap………… The bible says whatsoever you sow you will reap........ Job 4:8........As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it…….. Pekah his captain conspired against him and killed him in his palace......... What a sad way to die serving idols..........Pekah reigned over Israel for twenty years, he continued in the sins of Idolatry still.......... Tiglathpileser king of Assyria captured eight great cities in Israel and carried them all captive into Assyria........ Ps 135:17.......They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.......... Where were the powerless gods they have been serving all these years which cannot deliver them from the hands of the Assyrians......... Mt 26:52………..Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword………. Pekah killed Pekahiah, Hoshea the son of Elah conspired against Pekah and killed him as well........ Within the space of a short time many kings have ruled over Israel by coup plots........ Prayer: O Lord help us to trust solely in you and you alone.........in Jesus name.......Amen.
