In the first of our three parts of changes for the 2015 season - TopicsExpress

In the first of our three parts of changes for the 2015 season will be changes in safety. #1...As if this year we no longer have a grandfathered in helmet less rider. All riders will need a helmet at all comps. No helmet....no comp. Helmet needs to be worn any time you are in the ride area even for practice riding. If you are on a scooter you will need a helmet on. 5 points will be deducted from your score for not wearing and disqualification on the 2nd offense. If you are disqualified you are suspended from the next comp. #2...Mouth guards will be mandatory... For $2-4 a mouth guard can be obtained. No mouth guard ..no comp. Not needed in practice or at all times in ride area but for each scored ride. Same penalties... #3...knees elbows and wrists guards..still at your discretion. But if you have them or feel you are susceptible to these injuries, we encourage them. #4...Scooter check... Will be performed every other comp or after accidents. Inspections will be made for structural safety. Scooters not in condition for comp will not be allowed to be used. One scooter per comp. Parents instead of complaining about this please feel free to help. Also any scooter not in condition and unrepairable needs replacement at your cost. #5...Barring any repairs made to the Caz South hill, it will not be open for us. #6...We attempted to obtain individual riding insurance for each rider. Because scootering doesnt have recognition as a sport yet it is still uninsurable. You will be required to have your own health insurance by the first comp like last year. #7...Waivers will once again need update. No waiver no comps. #8...Interference rule...was better followed. Penalties remain the same 5 points and DQ with suspension for 2nd offense. #9..Every effort is made to get comps in but the weather sometimes doesnt cooperate. Most comps a decision on the ride or delays are made by 11am for noon rides. Postponed comps are made up as soon as able. Comps that are delayed or weather threatened may be shortened. These are subject to be amended. Its not a Tempurpedic world but were doing all we can to make PISST as safe as possible. Scootering is generally a safe sport. Its our job to keep our rides safe with everyones help.
