In the first quarter of our fiscal year in July, August and September, we provided disaster assistance to 1,443 clients across 385 cases in our seven-county region. (That doesnt include the 2,087 people assisted during this summers floods, which are managed separately as a national disaster response.) We averaged almost 12 new clients a day, slightly down from our annual average last year of 13 people a day -- but were just getting into fire season. Thank you to all of our volunteers, and to everyone who supports American Red Cross disaster relief to ensure that were able to continue serving people who need our help right here in Southeastern Michigan, around the nation and around the world.
