In the immortal words of Scarlet O’Hara the YWCA does indeed - TopicsExpress

In the immortal words of Scarlet O’Hara the YWCA does indeed “depend on the kindness of strangers.” Without the support of the community this agency would never have been able to keep the doors open over the nearly 100 years of our existence in Pueblo. The YWCA was nearly closed after the destruction of the 1921 flood only to rise with a newer and better building. The YWCA continues to need community support in many ways. The YWCA depends on receiving volunteer assistance to help with our fundraisers. Fundraising events are an ongoing necessity to pay for general operating expenses such as: administrative staff, utility bills and repairs that are not traditionally covered by most grants. Chocolate Indulgence and the Historic Ghost Walk among others use 100’s of volunteer hours to complete. Donations of food, fresh produce, meat and paper products are needed each month in order to fill the needs of our Shelter residents. Volunteers help with everything from holding classes to cleaning. Without the help of the community in the form of cash donations as well as volunteer hours the YWCA would never be able to keep the doors of the shelter open. Please consider helping in whatever way you can. The families that use our services are depending on you.
